About me

My name is Sage Stutchbury (he/they pronouns). I am a student at Michaelis School of Fine Art, in Cape Town South Africa. I am majoring in photography and printmaking.

I was born in 2006, and grew up in Zimbabwe which is where I spent most of my childhood. Later on I moved to Johannesburg, where I completed high school.

I have a passion for all things artistic and creative. I enjoy drawings, both realistic and imaginative, and dabble in both realism and a graphic style. Photography is one of my favourite mediums , I love conceptual shoots, and enjoy all aspects of the process.

I also write poetry, which I am working on publishing.

In terms of commissions, I am usually asked to draw pets, portraits and flowers, but I am looking to branch out more into more creative and conceptual commissions.

My current favourite way of making is automatic / stream of conciousness making. I apply this to digital collages that I create. These digital collages all form a part of the "Automatic" series, and I believe they are some of my stronger works.

I hope to combine photography, digital collages, and printmaking to potentially create fashion design featuring prints of my art.
