This series of digital collages explores automatic writing and image making. Through the use of my own images as well as those found on google, I collaged them together to form strange, almost psychedelic visuals. The images are chosen through imagery taken from poems that I write using the stream of conciousness writing technique, and bring visuality to the words. Layers, glitches and inverted colours are all used to show the masks we cover ourselves with and the chaos of life.
"Automatic / Old and New"
This series, made after "Automatic / I Want To Be Famous", delves into darker, more busy, less contained compositions. A combination of old and new poems are explored, with three artworks per poem.
"Automatic / I Want To Be Famous"
Social media has become a place of disguise and acting, of layers placed on top of each other until real life is distorted. I too am guilty of applying these layers like paint upon myself and my own life. "Automatic / | Want To Be Famous" speaks to the desire to be recognised, the desire to disguise. Layers online, layers in life.
